Point-in-time recovery (PITR)

Creating a schedule

When creating a PITR schedule, DBMS logs will be copied.

  1. Go to VK Cloud personal account.

  2. Go to DatabasesBackup.

  3. Go to the Point-in-time recovery tab.

  4. Click the Add.

  5. In the window that opens, specify:

    1. Schedule Name: the name for the schedule being created.
    2. Start time: specify the start time of the backup in the GMT+03:00 time zone.
    3. Store, number of copies: specify the number of backups stored.
    4. Backup interval: select the appropriate backup interval.
    5. Database: select a deployed instance with a PostgreSQL DBMS.
  6. Click the Save schedule.

Editing an existing schedule

  1. Go to VK Cloud personal account.
  2. Go to DatabasesBackup.
  3. Go to the Point-in-time recovery tab.
  4. Expand the menu of the desired schedule and select the Edit schedule option.
  5. Make the necessary changes and click the Save schedule.

Viewing schedule backups

  1. Go to VK Cloud personal account.
  2. Go to DatabasesBackup.
  3. Go to the Point-in-time recovery tab.
  4. Click on the name of the desired schedule.

A list of backups for the selected schedule will be displayed.

Restore from backup

  1. Go to VK Cloud personal account.
  2. Go to DatabasesBackup.
  3. Go to the Point-in-time recovery tab.
  4. Click on the name of the desired schedule.
  5. Expand the menu of the desired backup and select the Restore from backup option.
  6. On “Create instance” step specify the necessary parameters and click the Next step.
  7. (Optional) Specify the date and time of the required backup in the field of the same name. If you leave the field empty, the last backup created will be automatically selected.
  8. Click the Create database.
